The Environment Education Programme (EEP) is an initiative of the Ministry of Environment Forest & Climate Change, Government of India for strengthening non formal environment education activities across the country. It is a component of the Central Sector scheme " Environment Education, Awareness, Research and Skill Development (EEARSD)" that intends to leverage on the key sectoral strength of Eco-clubs already formed under National Green Corps programme, in addition to targeting Youth Clubs and other such clubs/ units/ groups formed under various programmes/ schemes of the Government. To organize awareness programs, competitions, seminars, debates, lectures, popular talks, etc., on environmental issues and conservation. Organize plantation drives, cleanliness drives, rallies, marches, street plays, etc. in school campuses and public places to spread environmental awareness. Promote eco-friendly practices, growing gardens, etc. and maintaining them with active involvement of Eco-Club cadres.
